Sigita Razminoviča

International Projects Coordinator, Latvian Academy of Music

WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND?

I am a professional flutist and I received my education in Riga, at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, as well as at Sibeluis Music univesity in Helsinki, Finland. Alongside my musical education, I will soon have a Feldenkrais Method certificate in my pocket. I studied the Feldenkrais Method in Vienna at the Feldenkrais Institute since 2021 - 2025 and I also teach it at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, and not only there... :)

WHAT IS YOUR PATH TO THE CURRENT POSITION?

Before I started working in the International Relations Office, I was an active concert performer and flute teacher for young children and high school students. I loved my job, but didn't feel like I was fully fulfilling myself and giving my all, I missed the surprise and the sense of breathtaking adventure. When I got the offer last autumn I was ready to give it a try and actually changed my professional life in 180 degrees.

WHAT IS YOUR PASSION IN YOUR JOB?

I love the international environment and the fact that I'm still working with musicians. My knowledge of music helps enormously in understanding the specifics of the job. It's so interesting to meet new people, incredibly talented musicians, and to do projects and concerts together. I love organising and helping ideas to come to life, it makes me feel even more alive. There is never ending room for growth and development and that's what makes this job so interesting and so dynamic!
